Makoto Matsumiya’s main practice areas are dispute resolution relating to intellectual property and internet-related disputes, licensing contracts for the use of patents, trademarks, copyrights and other intellectual property, joint development contracts and cross-border transactions. Using his background in physics, Makoto also has experience in patent acquisition matters. Based on his knowledge and experience gained from working at Higashimachi’s Imabari office and post-graduate study in the United Kingdom, Makoto also provides advice to clients in relation to maritime law matters, including charterparties, shipbuilding contracts and ship financing.
